Method:
White Bean Soup with Chicken and Cabbage
  1. HEAT half the oil in a large non-stick frying pan and saute the onions and garlic, stirring occasionally, until softened. Transfer to slow cooker
  2. HEAT remaining oil in the pan over medium-high heat, add chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned
  3. TRANSFER chicken to slow cooker along with drained white beans, carrots, stock, water, VEGEMITE, bay leaf and rosemary. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low 6-8 hours until meat is tender
  4. RE-HEAT frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the sliced sausage for 1-2 minutes each side, until browned. Remove and drain on paper towel
  5. STIR in sausage and cabbage and cook for a further 30 minutes on HIGH or until cabbage is tender. Season soup and serve with crusty bread
