Method:
Filling
  1. Place plums and 2 tablespoons maple syrup into a saucepan and place over a medium heat. Bring mixture to the boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until plums are soft, pulpy and firm. Cool. Place in refrigerator until required. (This can be made the day or night ahead of making).
Base
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 20cm x 20cm cake pan with baking paper. To make the base place oats, almond meal, maple syrup, coconut oil, salt and cinnamon into a food processor and process until well combined and finely chopped. Press evenly over base of prepared cake pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool.
Topping
  1. Spread plum mixture over cold base. For topping, combine oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and coconut oil in a bowl. Stir until combined. Sprinkle mixture over plums, pressing lightly. Bake for 20 minutes or until topping is light golden. Cool in pan. Remove from pan and cut into bars or squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Disappointed good ingredients but measurements need more attention ! never like cup sizes and two cups of oats was far too much also I stewed a kilo of plums which was just enough.

They are on the oven now. But I was wondering if I could freeze the slices? Only gave 4 stars because I haven't tried them yet

I've made this recipe a couple of times now and I can say that it is a must try. A healthy non-guilt option for a late night craving and they taste really good. Would recommend adding a little more maple syrup to the plum mixture as it can turn out to be really sour sometimes depending on the fruit and how ripe it is. Overall, great recipe :) Love from aus

It is a really nice recipe albeit crumbly. I added a little honey on top of the maple syrup as the fruit was really sharp, especially since I added a few blackberries that I found in my garden. I also added some cacao powder to the base. It was lovely and yummy but, as I said, crumbly
