How about these scary little Halloween muffins with their snakes and chocolate "dirt"? Your trick and treaters will love them!

Scary Snake Chocolate Chip Fudge Muffins

Ingredients

  • 125g butter
  • 100g Cadbury Dark Baking Chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup CADBURY Bournville Cocoa
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup CADBURY Milk Chocolate Baking Chips
  • 2 cups icing sugar, sifted
  • 20g butter, melted
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • The Natural Confectionery Company, Sour Squirms, for decorating
  • Cadbury Dark Baking Chocolate, extra, grated, for decorating


Method

  1. Place the butter and chocolate in a saucepan and gently heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth. Cool slightly
  2. Add the eggs, sugar and vanilla and stir to combine, and then add the sifted flour, cocoa and baking powder and mix until just combined. Fold through the chocolate chips
  3. Spoon the mixture into 12 x 1/3 cup capacity paper lined muffins pans
  4. Bake in a moderate oven 180°C for 20 minutes or until cooked when tested. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely
  5. Combine the icing sugar, butter and enough milk to form an icing of spreadable consistency. Spread over the muffins and decorate with Sour Squirms and grated chocolate. Decorate serving plate with extra Sour Squirms and chocolate if desired
