I fell in love with these when I first tried them out of a packet and then thought that they have to be easier and cheaper to make myself. The flavouring of these chips depends on your taste and also what spices you have on hand as they can take on any kind of flavour blends

Kale Chips

Ingredients

  • I bunch of curly kale, stalks removed and discarded and the leaves washed well
  • 1 tblsp of olive, macadamia or any other seed oil
  • 1 tsp of natural Cajun spice (you can also use curry powders, or a simple blend of salt and pepper)
  • Salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C Fan forced
  2. Wash the leaves really well in water and lay them between two tea towels to dry off all of the water
  3. Tear the leaves into smaller pieces and then toss with the olive oil and the seasoning using your hands to massage the oil into the leaves
  4. Place the kale onto baking paper on a baking tray and bake for 9 minutes, turning the oven off and allowing the leaves to completely dry out until crunchy and cooled
  5. Store in an airtight container in the pantry
