Rice Pudding

Cook in the Steam Oven
Ingredients
1 cup short grain rice
1 litre whole milk
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Whipping cream, to serve (Optional)
Method
Set steam oven to 100 degrees. Place rice, sugar, milk and vanilla essence in solid tray.
Place in the steam oven and cook for 1 hr (if the rice requires more time, cook for a further 10-15 minutes)
Rice may be served hot with a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon or with a berry sauce or cold with whipped cream
Cook on the Cooktop
Ingredients
1 cup short grain rice
1 litre whole milk
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Whipping Cream, to serve (optional)
Method
Place ingredients in a saucepan and cook on a low heat for 40-45minutes or until the rice is cooked and the mixture is thick and creamy.
Stir occasionally to prevent rice from sticking
Rice may be served hot with a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon or with a berry sauce or cold with whipped cream
