This classic Margherita pizza is simple, cheesy and full of flavour – made with rich pizza sauce, fresh basil and perfectly melted lactose-free cheese. It’s a pizza-night favourite that everyone can enjoy, no lactose needed.
Ingredients
1 lactose free pizza base (store-bought or homemade – see notes)
⅓ cup pizza sauce
2 cups Perfect Italiano Perfect Pizza Lactose Free cheese
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp olive oil, for drizzling
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Method
Preheat the oven to 220°C (fan forced) and lightly grease a 30cm pizza tray.
Roll out pizza dough or place store bought pizza base onto prepared tray and spread the pizza sauce evenly over leaving a 1cm edge.
Sprinkle pizza cheese and oregano over the top. Drizzle with a little olive oil.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden. Top with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately with a fresh side salad.
Tips & Hints
For fresh pizza dough bases, use one third of the fresh home-made pizza dough recipe (link to pizza dough) and roll out to form a 30cm circle.
If using store bought pizza bases, choose bases that are 30cm in diameter and adjust the cook time to 8-10 minutes.
