Make your own pear and passionfruit jam right at home with this easy recipe. A great spread for your breakfast toast or served with slow-cooked pork belly, this versatile ingredient is a must-have.
Ingredients
1kg Beurre Bosc pears
Juice of 2 lemons
2 cups water
Pulp of 10 passion fruit
1.5kg white sugar
Method
Peel, core and finely dice the pears
Put in a large deep saucepan with the lemon juice, water and passionfruit pulp
Simmer until the fruit is tender, then add the sugar, stirring to dissolve
Boil rapidly until setting point is reached. Test by placing a teaspoonful of the jam on a cold saucer, then pop in the freezer for a few minutes, the jam should be firm and hold its shape
When ready, fill the hot jam into hot sterilized jars and seal
