Make your own spicy pear sauce with this easy recipe. Perfect for desserts, baking, breads and a huge range of recipes. Can even be served with slow cooked pork belly for a delicious blend of sweet, savoury and spicy flavour.

Spicy Pear Sauce
Ingredients:
Method:
  1. Tie the lemon slices, mustard seeds and cinnamon in a muslin bag
  2. Place the vinegar, water, brown sugar in a large pot and stir over heat to dissolve the sugar
  3. Add all the other ingredients, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally
  4. Remove from the heat
  5. Discard the muslin bag and then blend with a stab blender till smooth. Strain through a fine sieve
  6. Pour into hot sterilized bottles and seal immediately
  7. If using immediately the sauce will keep refrigerated in an airtight container up to 2 weeks
