Nutella and Pampas Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Skewers
Ingredients:
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Thaw 3 sheets of Pampas™ puff pastry whilst you line two large baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Lay out one sheet of thawed puff pastry, spread over a layer of Nutella. Be careful not to use too much Nutella as it may start leaking out the sides.
  3. Lay the second sheet of puff pastry on top of the Nutella. Using a sharp knife (or pizza wheel), cut the pastry sandwich into 10 evenly sized strips.
  4. Fold the puff pastry accordion style, start with a larger base and make it smaller towards the top to create a Christmas tree shape.
  5. Using a small star cookie cutter, cut out your star shape (it’s best to keep this pastry plain, not with Nutella). You only need 10 for this recipe so you will have lots of stars left over to enjoy on their own, dipped in Nutella.
  6. Push a skewer or cake pop through the pastry to secure the tree and star together. Be careful not to squish your layers.
  7. Place the trees onto your baking tray. Brush lightly with egg wash. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until your trees are puffed and golden.
  8. Whilst your trees are baking, finely chop your candied cherries, zest your orange and get your crushed nuts ready.
  9. Once out of the oven, decorate with your choice of toppings and dust with CSR® Soft Icing Mixture to create a snow look.
