How to make chocolate caramel sauce

The ingredients for the chocolate caramel sauce are as follows:
  • 180g bar Caramello chocolate, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • ¾ cup thickened cream
  • 20g butter
Place all ingredients into a pan over low heat. Stir until smooth and combined, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a heat-proof jug and refrigerate until cool. You should now have a lovely thick choc-caramel sauce.

The next step is a great time to bring the kids in for some Easter decorating fun! Let them pour the sauce all over the cake, any sauce that drips down the sides will give it a rustic feel. Decorate with Easter eggs, chunks of honeycomb and chocolate wafers.
