I love to start the day off with my favorite breakfast of all time…. Apple and cinnamon porridge – which tastes just like apple strudel – only it’s healthy! Make up a big batch of LSA - as this is your porridge base and store in the fridge for maximum freshness. Eating a good breakfast is the first step to improving your metabolism, control your weight and getting you on track for eating healthier. Statistics show that people who eat a good breakfast every day are thinner than those who skip breakfast.

Method:
Apple and Cinnamon Porridge
  1. Combine the almond milk and apple into your Vitamix container and secure the lid. Select variable 1
  2. Turn machine on and quickly increase speed to variable 10 and then to high
  3. Blend for 30 seconds then pour the combined mix into a small pot along with the LSA and cinnamon
  4. Cook porridge over a low heat for a few minutes until heated through and thickened
  5. Serve topped with fresh fruit I like mine with blueberries, banana flaked almonds and extra almond milk and a little honey
Tips & Hints:
  • Apple adds sweetness and is high in pectin fibre that helps keep you fuller for longer as well as contains a mineral called boron that helps strengthen your bones and keep you alert. LSA can help reduce cholesterol and fight diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels because of its high fiber and high omega 3 content. A touch of cinnamon can help stabilize blood sugar levels.
