Method:
Seared Steak with Oozy Garlic and Herb Baked Brie
- Grease and then heat a frying pan with a brush or spray of vegetable or canola oil
- Once really hot, season the steaks quickly with a little salt and pepper and then put them straight into the pan. Do not move them for the first 2-4 minutes, until there is a brown colour on the first side
- Place the brie in an oven proof dish such as a wide soup bowl and the rub the garlic and lightly dried herbs into the skin and bake in a preheated oven of 180°C for about 8 minutes until just melting
- Turn and do the other side and leave for about 2 minutes before turning over for the last time
- You will need to adjust your cooking time depending on how you want them done and on how thick the steak is cut
- Remove from the heat and allow to rest, serve with the oozy fragrant cheese and a salad or Kipfler and mustard potato salad
