Low & Slow - BBQ Beer Can Chicken with Kansas spices
Ingredients:
Method:
  1. Start up your Traeger (see tips) or smoker and set to 350F/175C. Pre-heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Lightly oil the outside of the chicken then sprinkle with season - inside and all over the outside.
  3. Crack open your beer and remove ⅓ (for yourself or a guest), then place the chook over the can and place into the Traeger and cook for 60 – 80 minutes or until the internal temperature using a probe is 165F/75C.
  4. Let rest for 15 minutes then chop up, season with salt and Enjoy.
Tips & Hints:
  • A Traeger is a pellet smoker that uses compressed hardwood pellets to cook food with steady heat and a subtle smoky flavour. If you don’t have one, a standard BBQ with a lid or any smoker set up for indirect heat will work just as well.

Tools that can help when making BBQ beer can chicken include a BBQ with a lid, a beer can chicken holder, tongs, a meat thermometer and oven mitts for safe handling
