How to stop butter from burning

Burnt butter is definitely not the most appetising addition to a meal, and it's a cooking mistake we all know well. Luckily it's a very preventable one by following our easy tricks.
Watch that heat dial
Keep that heat knob at a medium, as excited as you are to get cooking. This will allow the butter to melt more slowly, giving you more time to keep an eye on it and have more control over the situation.
Rinse and repeat
If you are browning some chicken in batches for example, only add enough butter to cook that batch and wipe out pan between uses. This will prevent traces of burnt food from lingering and burning further in the pan.
Oil up
An easy and effective trick, adding one teaspoon of flavourless oil, such as vegetable or grapeseed, with the butter at the beginning will prevent the butter from burning.
