TIP: A great idea for a thoughtful and delicious gift is a homemade jar of lemon curd. Pop the curd in a little jar, place a cute piece of gingham fabric over the top and seal with the lid and a ribbon.
Mother's Day Menu timeline
Two days before Mother's Day (Friday)
- Prepare the pistachio base, cool completely and store in an airtight container in the pantry
- Bake the raspberry slice and store the day before, it keeps for up to a week in the fridge
- Make the salad dressing and store in the fridge
One day before Mother's Day (Saturday)
- Marinate the chicken, cut the vegetables and thread the skewers. Cover and refrigerate
- Prepare the cheesecake base and filling and store in the fridge
- Finish the Rose Pistachio Custard Tart recipe and store
- Boil the eggs for the salad, cool, peel and store in the fridge
- Toast the almonds and store in a container in pantry
- Cook the rice for the salad, cover and store in the fridge
- Peel and store the prawns in the fridge
Mother's Day (Sunday)
- Prepare the recipes for the Baked Brie Puffs with Fruit Chutney and the Caramelised onion, tomato and thyme pie maker tarts and serve immediately
- Finish the Wild Rice, Charred Broccolini and Egg Salad recipe, remove the dressing from the fridge
- Prepare the Chilli Prawn Pizza and put into the oven to cook while the first mains are served
- Grill the Honey Soy Chicken and Vegetable Skewers and serve immediately
- Dress the salad and serve immediately
- Remove pizza from the oven and serve
- Top off the cheesecake with the choc cherry topping
- Remove the other desserts from the fridge to serve at room temperature with a cup of tea
