Ham, Cheese and Spinach Puff Pastries
Ingredients:
Method:
  1. Preheat oven 200°C and line a large baking tray with baking paper
  2. Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat and add onion and cook for 1-3 minutes
  3. Add the flour and stir to combine for about a minute, then pour in the milk in two batches, stirring well between each addition. Continue to stir until there are no lumps, about 5 minutes
  4. Take off the heat and stir in the spinach then the ham. Add cheese and seasoning (if desired) and combine into the mix
  5. Spoon 1 heaped tablespoon of the mixture into the centre of each square of prepared puff pastry. Sprinkle with extra cheese then fold each of the corners of the pastry toward the centre of the square without touching the middle
  6. Brush the pastry with egg wash, sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake for 20 minutes or until golden

The recipe was delicious but it should be noted that it takes much longer than 10 mins to prep and 20 mins to cook. Also, if you are going to make these less filling to more pastry is better. Overall, good flavour though.

Wow these are awesome. Made for brunch this morning, for son & I, we're in Sydney, lockdown atm, thought would give a try. I only had baby spinach and I added Preso to this mix. I'll definitely make for the rest of the family after this lockdown. My grandson will lov'em
