How to make a wok omelette

A wok is the go-to kitchen item for making Asian stir-fries and fried rice, as the wok offers a large surface area for anything that needs quick, high-heat cooking. Plus, there’s room for loads of lovely veg, noodles or rice.

But don’t just reserve it for stir-fries, you can make the perfect omelette in a wok – and it’s even easier than in a normal pan.

Wok omelettes are thin and tender like a crepe, which makes it great for slicing and using in Asian cuisine. Have a look in the video below, and see just how easy and convenient it is to make an omelette in a wok. Then enjoy as is, or slice it up to enjoy with fried rice, noodles, stir fries or salad!

  1. Beat 2-3 eggs and set aside
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in your wok until hot
  3. Pour in the eggs, swirl the pan gently to spread the eggs into a thin layer. Do not stir
  4. Once eggs are set, remove from pan. Enjoy as is, or roll and slice into strips

Top tip: Ensure your wok is nice and hot before pouring in the egg mixture. This way your omelette will be nice and thin and evenly cooked through.
